Assignment and Transfer
309. ASSIGNMENT AND TRANSFER

The Board recognizes assignment and transfer of administrative employees within the district shall be in accordance with the adopted organizations chart of the District and shall conform to these guidelines.

The Board shall approve the initial assignment of administrative personnel at the time of employment.

Each applicant for transfer or reassignment shall be required to submit an official child abuse clearance statement unless the applicant is applying for a transfer from one position as a district employee to another position as a district employee and the applicant’s official child abuse clearance statement is current.

The Superintendent shall provide for a system of assignment or reassignment that includes voluntary transfers.

In selecting personnel for new administrative job assignments or vacancies arising from present job assignments, the Board shall ascertain and choose the best qualified and most capable applicant. However, nonbinding consideration will be granted to administrators employed by the Board who meet the qualifications detailed in the applicable job posting or advertisement. Interested, qualified current administrators shall be considered on the same basis as other applicants.

An administrator may request the Board to transfer him/her to a different job assignment by requesting such in writing and filing the same with the Superintendent. To be considered complete, a request for transfer must contain:

1. The reasons for requesting the transfer.

2. The specific job assignment sought, including the building location of the job assignment requested.

3. An explanation of the applicant's qualifications for the job assignment requested.

All requests for transfers should be submitted no later than May 1 so that the administrators who are transferred and their replacements may assume their new job responsibilities by July1.

Involuntary transfers of administrators shall be made at the discretion of the Superintendent.
