Evaluation of Administrative Employees
313. EVALUATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE EMPLOYEES

The Board believes that the evaluation of administrative employees should promote professional growth, improve instruction and student achievement, and ensure attainment of individual and District goals. Furthermore, evaluation of administrative employees shall communicate expectations, positive reinforcement, and constructive criticism and be completed in an objective and straight-forward fashion.
The Board directs that there shall be a plan for the regular evaluation of each administrative employ ee. These evaluations, in all aspects, are the exclusive prerogative of the Board and the Superintendent or his/her designee. The Superintendent may ask other District administrators, peer administrators, professional staff and parents to provide evaluations. The results of such evaluations can be used for all lawful purposes.
All monitoring or observation of an administrative employee's work performance for evaluation purposes shall be conducted with the full knowledge of the employee.
Mechanical and/or electronic devices can be used for an administrative employee's evaluation only if written permission has first been obtained from the administrative employee being evaluated.
To the degree the Superintendent's schedule permits, observation of administrative employees, for the purpose of evaluation, shall not be made on the day that the administrative employee returns from an absence due to personal illness or death in his/her family.
Each administrative employee's evaluation is directly related to the Administrative Compensation Plan. Administrative employees shall be evaluated and rated on job performance criteria and achievement of management objectives as further defined in Appendix A: The Appraisal Process of the Administrator Compensation Plan.
