543 Paid Holidays 543. PAID HOLIDAYS The Board establishes paid holidays for regularly employed support employees and shall be in accordance with the guidelines outlined below. Holiday12 Month 11 MonthEmployees Employees Independence Day X Labor Day X XThanksgiving Day X XThanksgiving Friday X XMonday after Thanksgiving X XDay before Christmas X XChristmas Day X XDay before New Year X XNew Year's Day X XPresident's Day (2) X XGood Friday X XEaster Monday X XMemorial Day X X Exceptions to the above include: a. If a scheduled holiday falls on a Saturday, the holiday will be observed on the preceding Friday; if a scheduled holiday falls on a Sunday, the holiday will be observed on the following Monday. b. If it becomes necessary to schedule a teacher workday or a day of classes with students on a holiday for support employees, all support employees will report to work as usual. A "floating" holiday will be provided, to be selected by the employee, subject to approval of his/her district or building level administrator. Specific dates for holidays shall be determined each year upon adoption of the school calendar by the Board of School Directors.
