2ND SESSION CLUB INFORMATION SHEET

2006-2007

CLUBS WILL MEET ON DAYS 3 AND 6 UNLESS OTHERWISE DESIGNATED. THIS WILL MEAN THAT IF YOU ARE IN A PRESIGN CLUB ON DAYS 3&6 YOU CANNOT BE IN A CLUB THIS MARKING PERIOD. ___________________________________________________________________________

MUSICAL MOVIES - MRS. KIRCHNER - 25 STUDENTS

Students will be watching musicals like Cats, The Wiz, Oliver, Annie, Anastasia, The Prince of Egypt, etc. You can only be in this club once this year!! __________________________________________________________________________

THE BLUE BUTTERFLY FUND - SERVICE CLUB - MRS. VAN BUSKIRK - 20 STUDENTS

The Blue Butterfly Fund provides funds to assist families with the cost of travel, non-covered medical fees, and general living expenses that are often sacrificed by a family whose child has cancer. Students participating in this club will be doing a variety of activities to support this organization. Activities may include the following: writing letters to children and their families, assistance in preparing for fundraising activities, creating cards and ornaments for gift baskets. ___________________________________________________________________________

VOLLEYBALL - MR. STACKHOUSE & MRS. REILLY - 28 STUDENTS - 8th grade only

8th Grade Coed Volleyball will learn the rules and play volleyball. This will also be the team that will play the faculty at the end of the 2nd Marking Period. ____________________________________________________________________________

SEWING CLUB - MRS. CREWS - 12 STUDENTS

Students will make small projects using machine stitching. ____________________________________________________________________________

WARBALL - MR. BERG - 30 STUDENTS 7th grade only

Students will play this fast paced action "WarBall" game. ____________________________________________________________________________

SPIRIT CLUB - MRS. BERG - 15 STUDENTS

Students will make posters for sporting events, decorate lockers, provide treats for team members and promote school spirit and a positive attitude. ____________________________________________________________________________

CHESS CLUB - MRS. KELLY - 20 STUDENTS

Students interested in joining this club should be able to play chess. During club time, chess tournaments will be held in order to determine the ultimate player.

SUDOKU CLUB - MS. CZAP - 20 STUDENTS

Students will solve a variety of SUDOKU (number puzzle) puzzles. ____________________________________________________________________________

COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB - MRS. NOBLE & MRS. PUTTERMAN- 20 STUDENTS

Become a competent, capable, and caring leader through community service. Develop your listening and speaking skills, as well as your leadership skills by giving your service to improve your community and the lives of the people living here. ____________________________________________________________________________

CRANIUM CRAZINESS - MS. HUNTINGTON - 12 STUDENTS

Students will play Cranium, Cadoo and Hulabaloo. ____________________________________________________________________________

SCRABBLE SCRAMBLE - MRS. KOMLOS - 20 STUDENTS

When the students enter the room, each will be given a card to indicate what team he/she will be assigned. During the game a bell will ring and new assignments will be given, but the game will continue with the same board and scores at the location. One more time the bell will ring and the same procedure will follow. The team that has the highest score at the end of the club will receive prizes. Also dictionaries may be used. ____________________________________________________________________________

BOARD GAMES - MRS. S. SMITH - 20 STUDENTS 6th Grade Only

Students will play a variety of board games. ____________________________________________________________________________

CIRCLE LOOM KNITTING - MRS. NEWCOMER - 15 STUDENTS

This is a service club to knit hats for those in need. You will use a circle loom to kit the hats. Come and learn and enjoy!! ____________________________________________________________________________

BRAIN BUILDERS - MRS. M. SMITH - 20 STUDENTS

Students will do activities, exercise and word problems that challenge thinking and problem solving. ____________________________________________________________________________

COMPUTER MATH GAMES - MRS. CRONK - 10 STUDENTS

Students will play computer math games in the computer lab using and learning their math skills. ____________________________________________________________________________

APPLES TO APPLES - MRS. WALTER - 25 STUDENTS

Come and play this award winning card and party game. You will make comparisons while expanding vocabulary and thinking skills when playing this fun game. _____________________________________________________________________________

LOGICAL THINKING - MISS CROMWELL - 16 STUDENTS

Students will have the opportunity to solve Sudoku puzzles, quizzles, and other logic puzzles. They may also play logic and strategy based games like Matermind and Mancala. ____________________________________________________________________________

JIGSAW PUZZLE - MRS. FOSTER - 15 STUDENTS

Students will have fund putt jigsaw puzzles together by your self or with friends. _____________________________________________________________________________

JUTE BRACELET MAKING CLUB - MS. PAULING - 15 STUDENTS

Student will learn to make friendship bracelets using jute. _____________________________________________________________________________

ORIGAMI CLUB - MR. LAWRENCE - 15 STUDENTS

Students will learn the art of ORIGAMI (folding paper into objects). _____________________________________________________________________________

8TH GRADE STORYTELLERS - MRS. STACKHOUSE - 20 STUDENTS

This group of actors will work all marking period putting together a show which we then take on the road for a day.
